Respondents (mainly readers of the Stiftung Warentest magazine "test") could request an expertise about their road traffic noise exposure, which included tips about legal means to act against it. This report is a first analysis of the campaign. Its main results are: Exposure levels presenting a risk to health also occur in inner-urban areas. High exposure was typically found for respondents who live in buildings close to streets with a speed limit of 50 km/h. Persons who live along motorways or federal roads with a speed limit greater than 50 km/h are exposed to less noise, in spite of heavier traffic, because of the greater distance between residential buildings and the roads. The first analysis of the campaign on road traffic noise indicates an urgent need for measures to reduce traffic noise, especially in inner-urban areas. 收起
