Certain useful dose metrics are reviewed in this paper. Fluoroscopic time alone is an insufficient tool for the management of high dose interventional procedures. The DICOM-DOSE project (a joint IEC-DICOM initiative) will enable collection of complete dose data from all x-ray imaging modalities irrespective of storage of the associated images. Data should be collected for every procedure where there is any possibility of a deterministic radiation injury. Appropriately sampled data may be sufficient for QA purposes and for estimating stochastic risk. 收起
