With knock-down rates of 90% and above, some mites always survive and resistance to treatments is bound to develop. Sadly, that resistance may be accelerated by beekeepers not following instructions precisely. Fortunately, in some countries Varroa mites have not yet developed resistance and Apistan (with fluvalinate as its active ingredient) is still very effective - even in areas where high levels of resistance developed in the past but have since become much lower again after the treatment was withdrawn for several seasons. 收起
