摘要: Titanium alloy and pure Titanium are the most widely used material for dental implants.Those materials are preferred among other material because of their excellent mechanical properties such as the higher corrosion resistance,bet... 展开 Titanium alloy and pure Titanium are the most widely used material for dental implants.Those materials are preferred among other material because of their excellent mechanical properties such as the higher corrosion resistance,better fatigue strength and lower modulus of elasticity.However,Titanium is known to be physically inert and hence cannot osseointegrate the human cells such as the natural human teeth.The surface of the tooth implant plays a crucial role for the osseointegration process as it will determine if the implant is successful or not.In order to obtain a successful implant,several factors should be taken into consideration namely;osseointegration,fatigue endurance and the life of the implant when subjected to masticatory forces created by humans.This project is focused on the effect of the hierarchical surface micro-texture on the mechanical properties of dental implant under loading conditions to replicate the masticatory environment.Our main objective of this study is to evaluate the mechanical behavior including the stress and strain distribution among 14 different Titanium samples used for dental implant.Asystematic classification of these samples is provided,followed by the difference.The samples vary by their hierarchical surface textures with each of them having a unique pattern.The von mises stress,strain and displacement were taken as data in order to evaluate which surface textures provide better property to be used as dental implant.Asequential breakdown of parameters such as the comparison of the dimensions of the implant,surface textures and stress strain curve to improve the fatigue life of the titanium sample is presented in this thesis.The influence of surface textures on dental implants is experimentally proven to influence the implant life,the osseointegration rate,the biocompatibility and the stability of the implant[4].It is hence important to determine the difference between the mechanical properties of various surface textures.However,further study should be made to apply those textures to dental implant models to simulate the insertion into bone using finite element methods.More precise details can be obtained in order to manufacture implants with superior surface properties. By applying the finite element method approach to the design of Titanium samples,the mechanical properties of the alloys were to be analyzed.Initially it was important to determine how design variables had an influence on the mechanical stability of the samples.The samples were hence designed by Solidworks and further tested using Solidworks simulation and abaqus.In order to determine the influence of the surface micro-textures,14different samples were used namely,linear grooves,diagonal grooves,crossed grooves,diagonal crossed grooves,circular spikes,rectangular spikes,triangular spikes,circular holes,rectangular holes and triangular holes.As the surface textures of the sample changes,the depth and space between the pattern varies hence influencing the total volume and total surface area.Furthermore,the samples were evaluated using two different simulation software namely Solidworks simulation software andAbaqus to obtain data which was obtained using different approaches.The simulation held in SolidWorks makes use of three different types of forces namely the compressive force,tension force and bending force.In those three cases,a force of100N is set as loading condition to replicate the masticatory forces applied on the tooth implant.We will further compare the difference of the material properties when the sample is subjected to those forces. 收起
