By superposing a number of such sources we can produce regular or irregular patterns of cellular convection. This procedure has been used to simulate the large-scale horizontal now patterns observed by the SOUP instrument on Spacelab 2. Passive test particles moving with this velocity accumulate in a network that coincides with the magnetic network observed at Big Bear Solar Observatory. 收起
