The purpose of the flights was to measure the surface and subsurface temperature distribution, the short-term surface flow, and the atmospheric conditions during the period of the intensive field investigations. This technical note describes these flights and presents the analyses of the Precision Radiation Thermometer (PRT-5), the Airborne Expendable Bathythermograph (AXBT), the sonobuoy drift, and the Inertial Navigation System (INS) wind data.
