In this research program, we are concentrating on developing an understanding of the electrocatalysis of the oxygen reduction reaction and the direct oxidation of several organic fuels including formic acid, carbon monoxide and methanol. In order to achieve this goal, we are undertaking to relate the kinetics and mechanism of the reaction to the electronic and geometric structure of the catalyst surface. Furthermore, the kinetics and mechanisms of these reactions are being studied in the fluosulfonic acid electrolytes. Progress is reviewed. (ERA citation 08:012520) 收起
