Of the many sources available the dry cell is most commonly used and is usually the most economical. This paper briefly describes the characteristics and limitations of the most commonly used primary and secondary dry cells. Familiarity with the operation and design philosophy of the various dry cells will enable the user to select the most suitable cell for a particular application. Also included is a section on thermoelectric cells powered by a radioactive source. 收起
