It is demonstrated that the typical wind conditions in weather phenomena such as thunderstorm downdrafts and surface boundary layer wind shear can be approximated by simple engineeringf models, whereby known solutions and flow forms from flow mechanics were adapted. The good agreement between models and airborne measurements is demonstrated. Based on the developed models the degree of danger during landing under different wind shear conditions was estimated. 收起
