The plasma is heated by the absorption of lower hybrid waves. Under conditions close to those of a hybrid reactor, estimates were made of the outgoing power deposited by alpha particles, the RF power absorbed in a plasma (to balance the energy losses), the driven current coupled with the RF absorption, the neutron flux and the production rate of plutonium. The magnitude of the driven current seems to be sufficient to maintain the steady state regime. 收起
