All produce anion radicals in which the unpaired electron is delocalized over the cyclosilane ring. Most give single line spectra, but proton hyperfine splittings are resolved for (Me2Si)4(-), ((CH2)4Si)5(-), and ((CH2)5Si)5(-). Splitting constants for alpha-13C decrease with increasing bulk of the alkyl substituents. For (i-Pr2Si)4(-) and (s-Bu2Si)4(-) two equally intense alpha-13C hyperfine splitting constants (hfsc) are observed, consistent with a bent structure for these anion radicals. 收起
