The average net rate of accumulaiton was found to be lower than previously reported for the Upper Mississippi River. Accumulation rates were variable along transects as well, with most transects crossing areas of both erosion and sedimentation. Bad elevation changes were also variable temporally, particularly related to the Flood of 1993. High discharge during 1993 resulted in more accumulation in shallow areas and more erosion in deeper areas than occurred during periods before and after the flood. 收起
