Sap flow through 20-mm diameter stems of oak (Quercus virginiana 'Heritage') and mesquite (Prosopis alba 'Colorado'.) trees in containers was measured using stem flow gauges and a precision balance, from January to October, 1991. Overall gauge accuracy, and the effects of gauge location on the tree stem, gauge ventilation, gauge insulation, sheath conductance factor (Ksh) selection method, and increased numbers of vertical thermocouple pairs on gauge performance were evaluated. 收起
