The lattice calculation of the pseudoscalar meson decay constant, together with a large value for the top quark mass, m(sub top) equal to or greater than 130 GeV, implies large charge conjugation and space inversion (CP) violation asymmetry in B decays to K(sub s)J/psi. The essential features of the lattice technique are reviewed. The results for the pseudoscalar meson decay constants and the kaon B parameter are reported. The lattice predictions for semileptonic decays, the experimental data, and other theorical approaches, are presented. The lattice calculation of the B meson decay constant and the implications of lattice results for CP violation are discussed. An outlook on future improvements and new calculations which can be done with numerical methods and are of interest in the physics of the Standard Model are included. 收起
