Time-history of the surface pressure (both h... 展开 Large eddy simulations of a full-scale sedan vehicle are performed with the low-Mach (Helmholtz) flow solver "charLES" for comparison with aeroacoustics measurements conducted at Honda. Time-history of the surface pressure (both hydrodynamic and acoustic) are recorded at specific locations matching the positions of the flush-mounted microphones installed on the vehicle in Honda's wind tunnel. Overall, the simulations capture the experimental trends in terms of broadband spectra and OASPL, in particular the higher pressure fluctuation levels on the side window associated with vortex shedding off the A-pillar and side mirror. With 1 mm near-surface resolution, the LES spectra show good agreement with the experimental measurements over most of the frequency range of interest (i.e., 100 Hz to 5000 Hz), with accuracy within a few dB. The full-scale sedan configuration is also used to investigate performance and scalability of the solver, and demonstrate the increased computational throughput achievable with GPU acceleration. 收起
