For such models, two components are required: a transfer function that accounts for the diffraction effects at the tip of an aerofoil and a pressure spectrum that models the boundary layer turbulence at the wall. The latter has drawn significant attention recently as it is a more complicated phenomenon to model accurately. The most common theoretical model is the TNO-Blake model, an analytical model derived from first principles. Although this model represents a major advancement in the field, it relies on several assumptions that may not be physically realistic for all cases to retain analytical simplicity. One such example is a rigid-wall assumption that may present a major drawback for using a TNO-Blake spectrum to estimate noise from a plate designed especially for noise reduction. This is a particular issue due to the increasing importance of using metamaterials to reduce noise, which relies on being non-rigid (in a mathematical sense) to reduce their noise. This paper aims to present a novel theoretical model that incorporates an impedance boundary condition into both components of the aforementioned 'standard' models. The transfer function is solved using the Wiener-Hopf technique with an impedance boundary condition accounted for during the multiplicative scalar kernel factorisation. The pressure spectrum is derived from a governing equation that now includes an impedance boundary condition. This is solved using the method of variation of parameters. We address how our model can be adapted to more general boundary conditions. Then, we present an example in which we calculate the trailing-edge noise from a compliant edge modelled with the Ingard-Myers boundary condition. 收起
