摘要: This paper presents implementation details of the algorithms used for a kinetic trajectory model supporting Air Traffic Control (ATC) operations in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) En Route Automation Modernization (ERAM)... 展开 This paper presents implementation details of the algorithms used for a kinetic trajectory model supporting Air Traffic Control (ATC) operations in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) En Route Automation Modernization (ERAM) system. One of the advantages of a kinetic trajectory model is that it can incorporate flight specific aircraft intent, which can provide greater consistency with the guidance trajectory generated by Flight Management Systems (FMS). The kinetic trajectory model relies on the Base of Aircraft Data (BADA) to compute the forces acting on the aircraft and required to solve the equations of motion. An analysis is presented to show the suitability of BADA 3 for the trajectory used by ATC. In addition to the kinetic computations, there are several algorithms that need to be integrated in the model, including: ATC clearances and procedures, aircraft state and intent processing, airspace restrictions and weather data processing. A challenge that is present during algorithm development is the need to balance the goal of high fidelity and accuracy in the model versus algorithmic complexity and efficiency. Limited availability and large uncertainty of the required inputs to the equations is another factor that needs to be considered. The paper discusses engineering choices and analysis related to these algorithms, including methods to solve the equations, dealing with limited accuracy of wind data, uncertainties in the inputs (aircraft intent, mass, thrust, drag, etc.) and approaches to validate and test the algorithms. 收起
