On the other hand, their recharging can potentially have a significant impact on existing energy infrastructures. This situation can be particularly serious for areas where they already suffer from difficult topological conditions, such as smaller islands not interconnected to the national transmission network. A methodology for estimating the impact on the electricity grid of a smaller island is established. The technical analysis of the interaction between a smaller island’s electricity grid and a hypothetical retrofitted vessel (based on a real diesel-powered one), carried out based on the timetable of service, consumption, and associated recharge requirements, is selected as case study. 收起
