Demands for reusability stem from both cost affordabili... 展开 With renewed global interest in a return to the Moon and aspirations of developing a thriving space economy, access to space using reusable spacecraft has taken centre stage. Demands for reusability stem from both cost affordability and mission flexibility arguments. Past efforts at realizing a reusable spaceplane have been frustrated by various challenges like technology development, low appetite for risk, lack of clear markets and mission requirements. At the same time the success or failure of such vehicles gets encoded into the program at the initial stages of conceptual design and technology incorporation. Hence an approach of incremental development in vehicle architectures in explored to address flexibility in mission requirements, establish lower recurrent launch and operating costs and make operational systems available sooner. Since such future transports need the development of many new systems technologies, hence the motivation to explore new and evolving architectures of such vehicles. 收起
