Fluorescence-based particle image velocimetry, and cross-sectional PLIF experiments were carr... 展开 Atomization and mixing of liquid and aerated acetone jet injected behind curved pylon in Mach 1.65 flow has been studied experimentally. Fluorescence-based particle image velocimetry, and cross-sectional PLIF experiments were carried out to quantitatively examine the droplet velocity, and qualitatively assess the spreading of secondary jet. The results were compared among the curved pylon cases and also compared with conventional standard pylon cases. Results showed that the axial droplet velocities were much higher for aerated cases when compared to the respective liquid injection cases. Among all the cases, the cases involving curved pylon showed improved droplet velocities in both axial and vertical direction. A substantial increment in the penetration height was observed for the aerated injection cases when compared with pure liquid injection for the same liquid mass flow rate. The curved pylon cases showed higher penetration height when compared to the standard pylon cases. The plume structures for liquid injection cases were almost similar whereas for the aerated cases they were of different shape. At far downstream locations, the curved pylon cases showed better spreading than the other cases. 收起
