A simplified geometry of an integrated configuration of a ribbed channel, film hole and mainstream passage is modeled to represent a turbine internal and external cooling scheme. The nine different relative positions between film hole and rib turbulator are analyzed at a target blowing ratio of 0.8,1.1 and 1.7. Based on the completed steady calculation using CFX and Fluent, the film holes located in the separated flow region of ribbed channel showed considerable enhancement in film effectiveness with minimum reduction and potential improvement in internal heat transfer. LES prediction supports the findings and also provide the details of interaction mechanism. In addition, new shaped film hole geometry is examined to confirm the robustness of the design in the presence of the interaction with rib turbulator. The new shaped film hole geometry showed overall improvement in film effectiveness without significantly reducing internal heat transfer. 收起
