These complexities require sp... 展开 Space structures are often subjected to complicated loading environments such as vibration, thermal loads, and non-uniform pressures; and can experience nonlinear response prior to the buckling event. These complexities require specialized approaches to assessing buckling, including the use of nonlinear modeling with as-built imperfections. Methodologies for assessing buckling for structures under complicated environments are illustrated by five case studies. These case studies illustrate the importance of imperfections, material behavior, and loading environments such as pressure, external loads, temperature, and dynamic excitation. A holistic approach to assessing buckling is advocated requiring multidisciplinary collaboration that includes disciplines such as dynamics, thermal, fluid mechanics, materials, and manufacturing engineers. 收起
