The focus is on analyzing damage initiation within... 展开 The results presented in this paper are blind predictions, using the finite element method, of the structural response of pristine double hat-stiffened laminated composite panels. The focus is on analyzing damage initiation within the post-buckling regime. A parametric study of varying panel geometries and hat stiffnesses is conducted to analyze the effect on buckling initiation and post-buckling recovery, in an effort to size a panel for eventual fabrication. The laminates are modeled using the commercial software ABAQUS/Explicit using an automated Python ply-by-ply generator to build the model, and utilize the Enhanced Schapery Theory (EST) modeling framework to predict intraply damage modes. Interply debonding between the hat flanges and top skin layer is predicted using Cohesive Zone modeling techniques; the analysis is also expanded to predict delamination between adjacent skin ply layers and hat ply layers. 收起
