The axial and circumferential velocity components were measured immediately downstream of the converging nozzle using particle image velocimetry (PIV) at 100 kHz. Methane and oxygen enriched air (66% Ch and 33% N_2 by volume) were supplied from two separate plenums located at the base of the RDC annulus to achieve a total mass flow rate of 0.32 kg/s. The RDC operated in stable single wave mode for all the test cases. Pressure measurements (static and dynamic) along axial locations of the combustor show higher operating pressure in RDC at higher constriction provided by the convergent nozzle. The PIV measurement illustrates that the converging nozzle improves the uniformity of the unsteady RDC flow at the nozzle throat. 收起
