For girders with lower slenderness the interaction rule in EN 1993-1-5 was found to be unsafe. Also in these cases the gross cross-section control dominates.4. Generally the cross-section control according to clause 4.6 (3) of EN 1993-1-5 was found to be more severe than interaction buckling control.5.
