Discrete damage models for different failure mec... 展开 A numerical model based on the FE-Method is presented which aims to simulate automatically occurrence and evolution of damage in particle-reinforced metal matrix composites (MMCs). Discrete damage models for different failure mechanisms are incorporated. As representatives, steel ASP30 and ASP60 are investigated to study the microscale deformation and fracture behaviour of MMCs. Numerical simulations are performed on the meso-scale applying the unit-cell technique. The overall behaviour of the material is predicted by the homogenized response of the unit cell. Special emphasis is placed on the prediction of an effective macroscopic damage parameter by automatic simulation of progressive microcracking. 收起
