It was also generally believed that only one of these rea... 展开 Experimental results of the last few years led to the general contention that plant photosynthesis consists of two collaborating (long wave and short wave) light reactions. It was also generally believed that only one of these reactions (the long wave one) is involved in the true cyclic photophosphorylation as catalysed by added PMS in isolated chloroplasts. However, it has been shown that this latter type of photophosphorylation is affected by molecular oxygen and the inhibitors of the short wave light reaction such as o-Ph and CMU. In our own experiments we have found that in sweet potato leaf cell preparations (LCP) both the ''red drop'' and the ''short wave enhancement'' phenomena 收起
